Aiya now the bridge not kena approve,we have to depend back on our xpensive airline system to kk and our lousy ferry buruk to Menumbok.
Really cannot stand the toilet in the ferry smelly ,dirty, grimey, disgusting, god sake you cant even lock the door when u doing your buisness, maybe our PM or Dputy PM should try and use the toilets in the ferry than they would have a diffrent opinion.l
How come last time when the cost of RM550 Million they did not want to build the bridge back then. Now when it is nearly 2 to 4 billion Ringgit they say mahal.Of courselah, minyak naik, materials naik. And it continue to increase if they decide to do another review on the bridge in the next five years.Cost might be 8 to 10 billion ringgit. If cannot builld the bridge also give us a better ferry which do not delay, which have clean toilets,if can mandi inside even better lol.The current ferry is like a big chunk of metal floating back and forth to menumbok and labuan,i dont know there is not one ounce of safety on that ship. How much you want to bet that the lifeboats on that ship has never been tested and used?Cmon lah goverment, you kasi naik minyak 5sen now next year what another 5sen?Pleaselah naikkan the standard of the ferry service or better yet.Do like what KK town is doing.Fillup the sea with land then no need bridge loh? |

| The PM and DPM are not staying in Labuan or Sabah so they won't care the difficulties of Labuan people. Who believe government not afford to build the bridge? I'm not believe. Just the government spent the money in unnecessary projects. |

They sure won't do it. Who want to make an investment which only get the returns after few decades. But for government is different, they have the responsibilities to bring convenience and development to local people. |

A bridge would be a disaster for Labuan.
We already have too many vehicles on the island, just imagine - a bridge doubling the number of vehicles every weekend, the only people to benefit would be the duty free shops, the rest of us would be confined to our homes, unable to get on the islands roads.
A victory for logic and common sense. |

How about a compromise? A bridge that does not allow private, passenger vehicles? Busses yes, commercial vehicles yes. But private cars with outside registrations No. Only Labaun Registered private cars. That way we get to go to Sabah and that satisfies all those moaning about the ferry. Goods can come by road, that satifies that traders and everyone else is ferried across by bus and so no extra cars! |

| Is it too many vehicles? Yes maybe. But in my opinion, the bridge is a good project, maybe government will find it important when Labuan falls into opposition party. Sorry a bit political but that's my opinion la. Huhuhu |

Without the bridge, vehicles in Labuan still increase every day. With the bridge, not only the vehicles from mainland can go in but the vehicles in Labuan also can go out. In my opinion, the number of vehicles in Labuan going out to mainland will be more than the number of vehicles in mainland coming in to Labuan because Labuan is quite boring so I think most of the Labuan people will drive to KK for entertainment. |

Ah, but we are left to consider 2 points:
1. Doubling of vehicals? Where does that figure come from? Maybe triple, maybe quadruple....... See what I mean. best to stick to facts.
2. In my opinion...... Well, that's an opinion, no facts to back it up.
What is factual is that Labuan would be joined to Sabah. Labuan has limited road space. trade may well prosper. or maybe not. Certainly the cost of a bridge would be great. Maybe spend the money on getting a sensible ferry service, or go back to my suggeation.
have a bridge, allow Labuan registered cars out, but no other commercial cars in. That would boost the taxi service etc and trade on Labuan with regard to duty free. It may well lower the trade for other items because if I can go to sabah for just a bridge toll, then I would fill my pick up with goodies in KK at the expense of Labuan traders....................
Coins have two sides. People pushing for as bridge in LOC seem to base their views on personal needs, rather than take a larger picture. |

I agreed with your "Coins have two side" but I'm not agree with "People pushing for as bridge in LOC seem to base their views on personal needs". If you are staying in Labuan then MAYBE one day you really need the bridge. Do you know some time got patients in Labuan need emergency medical treatment in QEH in midnight but they have no way to get to there unless hire a helicopter. People pushing for a bridge not only for their personal needs but for the benefits of ALL Labuan people except the Labuan ferry owner. |
